REVIVAL BOOKING A RESPONSIVE HOME FOR THE UNDERGROUND
Redesigned Revival Booking's website for mobile and desktop, informed by user research with concertgoers and artists in metal and punk subcultures. Created brand guidelines and a design system, and implemented a CMS so artist profiles and concert listings could be updated without breaking the layout.
News, shows and artists in one scroll, with the poster doing the talking.
Revival Booking is a Swedish concert promoter focused on metal, punk and other alternative subcultures, operating primarily in Gothenburg and Stockholm. The company manages bookings, promotions and live events for both emerging and established artists, helping to strengthen the underground music scene and bring niche genres to broader audiences.
Seven in ten mobile visitors left on the landing page.
70 %
The previous website had an outdated, non-responsive layout that produced a weak mobile experience and limited accessibility for people on the go. Almost 70 % of mobile visitors dropped off directly at the landing page.
It also failed to reflect Revival's visual identity, creating a disconnect between the brand and its presence online.
Administrators struggled to manage concert and artist listings: updates were time-consuming and often risked breaking the layout because there was no structured CMS behind it.
Mobile is where seven in ten visitors used to leave. Same hierarchy, rebuilt for a thumb.
- User research with concertgoers, artists and promoters formed the foundation for understanding expectations around event discovery and brand perception.
- A desktop-first design was developed and then carefully optimised for mobile, ensuring a consistent and reliable experience across devices.
- The visual design was co-created with Revival and drew on the energy, attitude and aesthetics of metal and punk.
- A design system and brand guidelines were delivered together with a CMS, so listings could be updated safely without a designer in the loop.
Traffic is now split 51 / 49 between desktop and mobile.
The redesign led to a notable increase in unique visitors. Sessions now come almost evenly from desktop (51 %) and mobile (49 %); the previous disparity in behaviour has essentially disappeared, which shows the new design performs far more effectively on smaller screens.
Artists and promoters shared positive feedback on the updated visual identity and the smoother experience of navigating and sharing event information.
The new structure and design system created a solid foundation for future features, improved accessibility and more scalable content management.
“Kamran quickly understood our brand and audience and delivered a website that truly represents Revival. The result is easier to manage, works great on mobile, and has been very well received by both artists and promoters.”
